Hopewell Plaza in Wan Chai will continue to provide new experiences for the community and customers with diversified activities this summer. From July 10 to 28, 2025, Hopewell Plaza will transform the atrium into "Exotic Pets World", hosting Hong Kong's first interactive education exhibition on amphibians and reptiles. Through various family-friendly activities, including guided tours, parent-child workshops, check-in photos, etc., we will introduce these "cold-blooded" but cute exotic pet friends! 12 rare exotic pets will meet you, including the endangered star-spotted water turtle, the three-lined box turtle whose population is almost extinct in the wild, and the rare species of Mexican spiny-tailed iguana, etc., in a highly restored simulated natural habitat. Some exotic pets, including large tortoises, will interact with you up close! We sincerely invite all friends who love animals to join "Exotic Pets World" this summer to fully understand the characteristics and cuteness of these rare exotic pets!

12 kinds of rare and exotic pets gather in the "Amphibian and Reptile Exhibition Area" to explore the wonders of nature and the mysteries of science

The "Exotic Pets World" held by Hopewell Plaza has set up an exclusive "Amphibian and Reptile Exhibition Area" to exhibit 12 kinds of rare and exotic pets from all over the world at one time, including turtles, snakes, lizards and amphibians. The exhibition aims to let the public understand the role of these cold-blooded animals in nature, their ecological needs and the threats they face through close viewing, and to enhance conservation awareness and scientific literacy. Through this exhibition, not only can you get a glimpse of the rare animals, but you can also understand their ecological value and conservation challenges, thereby cultivating an attitude of respecting life and caring about nature. The organizer hopes to inspire the next generation's interest and sense of responsibility in natural science and environmental protection through this educational exhibition.

To learn more about these amphibians and reptiles that look cold but have gentle personalities, parents can visit the "Interactive Exotic Pets Park" with their children. The South American Taiga lizard, the world's third largest land tortoise, the Aldabra giant tortoise, a large terrestrial tortoise, and the highly intelligent macaws are waiting for everyone with their keepers. The keepers will explain the characteristics and daily life of different species in detail. "Little Zoologist" Experience Class and Summer Courses to Cultivate Tomorrow's Zoologists

Children's curiosity ignited after meeting a group of exotic pet friends? By participating in the "Little Zoologist" experience class or summer course, you can learn basic information such as animal classification, breeding knowledge, biological observation, etc. from experts, and prepare for becoming a zoologist in the future. The 30-minute "Little Zoologist Experience Class" is suitable for beginners who are curious about exotic pets. The class is led by a professional instructor, introducing common reptiles and their habits, and arranging practical contact experiences, allowing children to touch and observe animals such as geckos, tortoises, corn snakes, etc., and learn to respect life and nature. There are a total of 3 classes, each 60 minutes long "Little Zoologist Summer Course" will help children learn about nature and animals in depth. The course combines theory and practice, encourages observation, expression and hands-on participation. Every primary school student who completes the entire summer course will be able to participate in the results sharing ceremony held on July 26 and receive a conference-exclusive certificate to recognize the children's learning achievements and encourage them. There is also an educational exhibition area on site to introduce endangered amphibians and reptiles from all over the world, conveying the concept of conservation and responsible breeding. Remember to attend public lectures hosted by registered veterinarians, animal protection organization representatives, animal educators and other professionals to gain a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between humans, animals and pets.

Five "Parent-Child Workshops" and Theme Market

The conference has five parent-child workshops, which will be held in rotation every day. The public is welcome to sign up.

"Animal Coloring Creation Workshop"

Provide pure white animal models for children. The instructor will explain the characteristics and color matching of the animals, and then the children will use their creativity to fill in the colors and make their own exclusive exotic pet dolls.

"Specimen Making Workshop"

Led by a professional taxidermist, learn specimen making skills by processing naturally dead animals such as beetles, crab shells, scorpions, centipedes, etc. In the process, children can understand the meaning of life cycle, animal structure and ecological education. The specimens can be taken home as a learning souvenir.

"Ecological Landscape Tank DIY"

Let the children create their own miniature natural ecological tank, including plant configuration, decoration design and raising small creatures such as aquatic animals or woodlice. The instructor will introduce the operating principles of the ecosystem, the concept of water cycle and species coexistence. After completion, the ecological tank can be taken home for further observation.

"Degubat Visual Collage Art Workshop"

The instructor will explain Degubat's creative techniques, and create unique works of art by cutting and pasting colored paper patterns on the surface of objects. Degubat's works are noble and elegant, and the process is also healing, suitable for parents and children to participate together. The workshop has different project options, including children's cat masks, handbags, and Nordic style controllable night lights.

Amphibious Insect Theme Workshop - "Chasing Bees in the Wind"

Through physical specimens and multimedia content, this common but extremely unusual insect is introduced. From the structure of the hive, physiological characteristics to the role of bees in agriculture and culture, it leads children and adults to understand how bees are closely related to the future of mankind.

Amphibian and Insect Theme Workshop – “Hong Kong Amphibians and Their Origins”

Introducing the most common amphibians in Hong Kong, including newts, to let participants know about these small animals that often appear on the edge of the city. The instructor will explain the characteristics and ecological value of their habitats, and explore their importance as indicators of ecological health.

Amphibian and Insect Theme Workshop – “Ant Kingdom”

Focus on the world’s most numerous insects - ants. Through specimen observation and creative painting activities, children can understand the social structure, species diversity and important roles of ants in nature. The activity will also introduce the trend of ants as alternative pets, and explore their unique charm from a scientific and cultural perspective.

The world of crayfish opens. “Aquarium Zone” explores the mysterious ecology of freshwater crustaceans

This exhibition has a special “Aquarium Zone”, focusing on ornamental crayfish that have attracted much attention in the aquarium industry in recent years. These colorful small crustaceans are not only unique in appearance, but also have rich behavioral characteristics and high ecological adaptability. They are an excellent subject for promoting freshwater ecological education and breeding knowledge. The exhibition area will display a number of representative ornamental species, including the brightly colored Australian sky blue crayfish, which is popular among breeders, and the ghost tail crayfish, which is known for its translucent tail and agile movements. The differences in their body color, size and behavior reflect the diversity of artificial breeding and natural evolution. This summer, Hopewell Mall not only hosts the "Exotic Pets World", but also takes you back to the Edo period in Japan, presenting the "Summer Japanese Show Festival". Performers in the warrior line-up wear Edo period costumes, and perform with ninja warriors to recreate the grand scene of the general entering the city, which makes the audience dazzled.
